Sunday Service - Stories of Hope and Faith -Advent Week 1

Another Christmas Season is upon us. This is the first week of Advent, and the theme is “Stories of Hope and Faith.” There is always something hopeful and exciting about Christmas, and yet, there seem to be more challenges in the world than ever. So, it can be easy to let our hearts stray from the purity of the season with so much turmoil swirling around us.

The season is marked by traditions that symbolize hope and faith. They are also built upon the promise of a bright future. Perhaps we can let hope fuel our generosity and compassion and ignite an internal glow in each of us.

During the weeks of Advent, we await with expectation, the birth of the “Christ.” This is the Christ Consciousness in each of us. We give birth individually and collectively. As we shine forth our inner light of hope and faith for all to see, we embrace the enthusiasm and childlike love of the season.

Let us look beyond our concerns and fears about the future and turn to hope. May it be the shining star that guides us to deepen our faith and trust in a great Divine Order in the Universe designed to work for the greater good of all. We know we are part of a larger cosmic cycle that is unfolding in ways beyond our understanding. So, let us trust and have faith in a divine plan, regardless of outer circumstances or appearances.

This week, we can focus on the positive—on hope that the Christ is born in each of us, and that light and love and good prevail. When hope is inspired within us, we can nurture that hope through possibility, to expectation, and then to faith. Faith is our “yes” power, in which we firmly believe and hold fast to Truth, knowing and trusting that all is well. We put our faith in God, unseen but always present.

Love and blessings,
Rev. Kathy
