Sunday Letter - From Obstacle to Enlightenment

Rev. Barbara Winter Martin responded affirmatively when I asked her to speak this Sunday with very little notice. I am grateful for her “Yes!” It helped me to overcome a final obstacle so that I could take a four-day trip to Northern California this weekend.

Out of the blue, a dear friend “gifted” me with a trip to stay with her and her wife in Novato, CA, to see my son Chris and his family who live 30 minutes north of them in Santa Rosa, and to attend his father-in-law’s Celebration of Life service. The icing on the cake is being able to celebrate my birthday with them as well! This was one of those amazing surprises from the Universe! And I had a lot to deal with and to arrange for it to be possible.

It was interesting to note that Rev. Barbara’s lesson title is “Obstacle to Enlightenment.” Obstacles are whatever appears to stand in the way of our dreams, our aspirations, our good. Yet, the process of overcoming them may sometimes be more important than the final result.

Rev. Barbara says this about her lesson: Ernest Holmes stated in Science of Mind, “No matter how impossible any situation may seem or how difficult the solution of any problem may appear, we hold to the idea that Spirit has no problems, there are no impossible situations.”

This coming Sunday, Rev. Barbara will explore how we can work with seeming obstacles using Unity teachings and spiritual practices.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Love & blessings,
Rev. Kathy
