Sunday Service - Creative Imagination

We are all creative. We have the Divine Presence within us—that creative impulse always seeking some sort of expression. We are even creative in our names for the Divine. There is Wakan Tanka, Brahman, Allah, Tao, Goddess, Yahweh, God, Holy Spirit, Great Spirit, Christ, The One, The Creator, Buddha, Krishna, Rama, and others.

In the Islamic tradition, there exists a special spiritual exercise of reciting the 99 most beautiful names for God. Here are just a few: The Fashioner, The Maker, The Creator, The Expander, The Constricter, The Maintainer, The Preserver, The Awakener, The Loving, The Wise One, The All-Embracing, The Generous One, and so forth. I won’t list all 99!

It is said that “God is an artist and the universe is God’s work of art.” And we are born in the image and likeness, co-creators with Spirit. We all have the power of imagination within us. It is one of our twelve spiritual powers that we teach of in Unity. It is the ability to give shape and form to unformed mental energy. That means our creative imagination is virtually unlimited. What will we choose to imagine in our present and future?

Let us use our creative imagination to paint a future we would like to experience.

Focus on your dreams and heart’s desires and continue to envision their manifestation. Imagine that positive outcome, see it, feel it, and act on it, as you are guided to help bring it forth into being.

Thank you, Loving Spirit, for the power of imagination and the gift of creativity. We are blessed by the Great Creator always!

Love and blessings,
Rev. Kathy
