We are called by our love and passion. Joseph Campbell, mythologist, named it “following your bliss.” We let our heart prevail and it guides us where we are supposed to be for the greater good. This may make more sense when we are young and ambitious and trying to find our place in the world. But what about when we are older or retired?
Whatever is going on for us, there can always be a purpose, no matter how small or large. Perhaps it is taking care of grandchildren, or writing political letters, or cooking meals for someone. Maybe you are a caregiver for another or simply enjoying days of relaxation.
How do we follow our bliss? It is good to check in with Spirit each day and ask for guidance. Beware of the voice within that tells you what you should do. Seek beyond the left-brain practicalities and open yourself to your heart’s true desires, your joy and happiness. Yes, create a “Need to Do” List, if needed, but also, set yourself free to enjoy your dreams and follow your heart.
By expressing our Light in the world, we engage in the “Great Work.” There is really only one work going on in the universe—the great work of creation itself—the work of evolution or creativity in the universe. And the essence of this work—this Divine creativity, is love.
Love and blessings,
Rev. Kathy
